TSA Leagues Mandatory Concussion Education & Protocol
The TSA is very pleased to announce the details of the above program for the 2021 outdoor season!
1. Each team participating in either YDSL or TDYSL is
required to have a minimum of one coach who has taken the formal education and completed
the Education/ Protocol questionnaire that we will provide.
2. The formal education can be accessed in 2 ways:
a. By attending the live webinar, presented by our partner Holland Bloorview Concussion Centre as follows:
Wednesday July 7th
Kick Off: 7.00pm
Please note, pre-registration IS required.
b. While attendance at the live webinar is strongly advised, should coaches be unavailable on July 7th, they can watch the presentation at a later date as a recording of the meeting will be distributed. Please be aware that the recording does need to be viewed before the start of the season and before taking the "Education/ Protocol Questionnaire".
3. Following attending/ viewing the webinar, coaches will receive access to an online "education questionnaire" which will evaluate the level of understanding of the Concussion Protocol. Please note, a coach from each team must obtain a score of 75% or above on the questionnaire for that team to be considered as compliant with the Protocol requirements. The questionnaire will be distributed after the webinar.
Please make them aware of the mandatory nature of this education and one coach from each team MUST register/participate in this education process.
Please note this Protocol is above and beyond the requirement of every coach taking Making Headway in Soccer, and not only is the education complaint with Rowans Law, but the Protocol has a concussion reporting and monitoring element.
We strongly encourage team staff to make arrangements for one coach to register for the webinar ASAP.
If you have any questions regarding this process or mandatory education/protocol, please email Alan Gould, Executive Director, TSA: email@example.com
